Overview

Global megatrends that include shift in global economic power, demographic change, rapid urbanisation, rise of technology, and climate change/resource scarcity, are having a profound impact on our collective futures. These complex challenges cannot be addressed in isolation and would require integrated solutions. Emissions reduction powered by the rechargeable Li-ion battery technology is considered to be one of those solutions to help address some of these megatrends.

This presentation will analyse the market and technical drivers and challenges for the mass adoption of Li-ion batteries in automotive technology platforms. Key technical targets, technology roadmaps and the value chain will be reviewed. An overview of the next generation of battery technology and its challenges will also be discussed.
