Overview

World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development is celebrated on 4 March every year as a UNESCO international day. It is a celebration of engineers and engineering and the important contributions of the profession to sustainable development and modern life.

IChemE and Engineering New Zealand have co-organised an event in Wellington. The event will include presentations from engineers who are taking up the challenge to address decarbonisation across New Zealand. The speakers from Hiringa, Geo40, Wellington Electricity, Retyna and WSP plus others will discuss the opportunities and challenges with green energy, electrification and waste recycling.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions Engineering New Zealand (ENZ) have rescheduled the event to 15 April. The event will be hosted at ENZ in Wellington with a webcast for those unable to attend in person. Please choose your preferred option when registering.
