On 19 March 2020, the WHO published its interim guidance on the prevention control of coronavirus for water and sanitation practitioners. The provision of safe water and hygienic conditions is essential to protecting human health during all infectious disease outbreaks.

As the NWYMG acting committee, we thought it would be a good topic of discussion to find how members in the region are coping with the lockdown. This is our first wider event from the current acting committee.

The first part of the session would be to outline what the WHO are, the key risks and prevention practices for COVID-19 in relation to water and wastewater and the second is to hear from the group how members are managing during lockdown in their respective industries.

Speakers

Adam Cullen, Chair of North and West Yorkshire Members Group

As acting Chair of the NWYMG, Adam has decided to launch this event for a topical discussion for members to attend in lockdown. Whilst also introducing to members across the region that the group is active once again and welcome as many new faces as possible.

Intended audience

This is aimed at members from all levels and industries — a few of our acting committee members work within water and utilities and thought this would be highly topical.
