Since 2003 the world has faced three outbreaks caused by coronaviruses (CoV); Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), and the current outbreak caused by 2019-nCoV.

A/Prof Jingxiu Bi from School of Chemical Engineering & Advanced Materials, The University of Adelaide, discusses the potential engineering solutions for a safe vaccine development.

On 17 February at the University of Adelaide, the Joint Chemical Engineering Committee (JCEC) hosted a presentation on the current Coronavirus.  

Discussion points were around the potential engineering solutions for a safe vaccine and how chemical engineers could contribute to this.
