Overview

Water companies are heavily focused on providing a resilient water supply. This enhanced resilience is often achieved by integrating the water supply network. Whilst this solves a lot of problems, it also presents new water quality risks. Different water sources can result in new compliance risk, or simply taste different and cause customers to complain. Whatever the risk, using water safety planning is the way to manage it.

Speaker

Hugh Thomas, Atkins

Hugh is the Technical Authority for Process Engineering at Atkins Water, with over 20 years in the industry. He is responsible for ensuring design quality, technical innovation and development.

Hugh has worked in a variety of environments including research, design and build contracting, consultancy and for the leading UK water company. Hugh is a specialist in water treatment processes and water quality management from source to tap. He has applied these skills to municipal, oil and gas, energy from waste, pharmaceutical and other industrial sectors.

Hugh is a Fellow of CIWEM, a committee member for the IChemE Water Special Interest Group and on the Industrial Advisory Panel at Cranfield University.

A one-hour online session: 40 minutes' presentation + 20 minutes' Q&A.
Duration (for CPD recording purposes): up to one hour.

If you are recording mandatory CPD you should refer to your own regulator's requirements as recognition of CPD hours may vary.
