Overview

With the requirement set for a "Net Zero" decarbonisation by 2050 the UK has entered into an aggressive programme regarding road transport - for example requiring cessation of sales of new petrol and diesel powered passenger cars by 2030. The talk will outline the possible contending technologies, their pros and cons and the resultant actions that will need to be taken to achieve targets.

David Lemon, Managing Consultant, David Lemon Consultants

David first got involved in "alternative fuels" at Ricardo and lectured worldwide on the subject. At the Energy Saving Trust he was responsible for assisting the introduction of the first hydrogen fuel cell buses into London as well as programmes on battery-electric, ethanol and methane power. He started his own consultancy in transport energy in 2003. He joined the CESIG Committee in 1996 and has been their representative on the Energy COP Leadership Group since 2017. Through the IChemE he has volunteered on various energy programmes run by the Royal Academy of Engineering
