Alistair Warwick, Head of Technical Functions for the Wind Energy business

"Wind – a powerful weapon against climate change?"

In the technical portion of the event, Alistair Warwick will provide an overview of wind power fundamentals for the non-expert engineer and a summary of the BP wind business. Key aspects that he will reflect on are:

  • Challenges and solutions in managing the onshore BP Wind fleet
  • The potential of offshore wind
  • His career journey from coal gasification Chemical Engineer to renewable energy and the transferable skills that led him there / could work for you.

Mark Apsey, Managing Director for Ameresco UK and Chairs IChemE’s Energy Centre

IChemE climate change position statement

In the second part of the event, Mark Apsey will provide an update on the IChemE's plan to issue a position statement on climate change in Q4 2020 incorporating membership feedback, as well as an overview of Energy Centre activities. The consultation period for this has now closed and the draft statement can be found here.
