Webinar: HyNet North West — Unlocking a Low Carbon Future in the UK
  • Date From 3rd March 2022
  • Date To 3rd March 2022
  • Price Free of charge, open to all.
  • Location Online: 09:00 GMT. Duration: 1 hour.

Overview

HyNet is a low carbon energy project at the forefront of the UK’s journey to a net zero future, being developed by a consortium of world-leading organisations.

From 2026, HyNet North West will produce, store and distribute low carbon hydrogen which will replace fossil fuels to power industry, transport and how we heat our homes. In addition, HyNet’s infrastructure will capture and lock away carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) from industry to decarbonise the North West of England and North Wales.

This game-changing project has the potential to reduce CO2 emissions by 10 million tonnes every year by 2030, the equivalent of taking four million cars off the road each year.

By achieving this, HyNet will create and maintain thousands of local jobs, both permanently, and during construction. Through the creation of a regional hydrogen economy, we aim to enable long-term sustainability for businesses, attract inward investment and build financial security for communities across the region.

This webinar is aimed at:

  • engineers and scientists working within hydrogen and clean energy
  • academics, early career researchers, students looking to hear about the latest developments, widen their understanding around hydrogen projects and technologies
  • business leaders looking to find out about the latest developments in green hydrogen and electrolysers
  • early career researchers (in academia and business) looking to widen their understanding around the generation of green hydrogen
  • final year students looking to widen their knowledge and understanding of green hydrogen technology and sectors.

Speaker

Rachel Perry, Project Manager, HyNet North West
