Overview

COVID-19 pandemic has forced many of us to change our ways to deliver conventional lectures. Block flow diagram (BFD) development is the foundation and basic to plant design that Chemical Engineering students should master. Delivering the lecture in this topic has been a great challenge and doing it online is even more challenging. This webinar covers the topic of online delivery of BFD component in a second year process design-related unit, implementing bite-sized pre-recorded lectures, online tools and breakout rooms to facilitate learning of BFD development.

Presenter

Poh Phaik Eong, Monash University Malaysia

Dr Poh graduated with a PhD in Chemical Engineering from University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus and joined Chemical Engineering Discipline of Monash University Malaysia as a Lecturer in 2011. She is currently an Associate Professor with expertise in delivering modules related to process design and process simulation. Previously she has implemented game-based learning as a method to enhance students' learning in P&ID and she is keen to explore teaching innovations that can help to improve students' learning experience in the area of process design or process simulation.
