In early phase chemical process project lifecycles, there are many alternative and promising process routes/designs. All of them have various degrees of unknowns and uncertainties. This webinar highlights a practical approach on how to synthesize chemical processes, what to consider, how to analyze the unknowns and the uncertainties, what needs to be done in the next stages, and how to select which process to carry forward to the next stage of the project. The workflow is based on a well-known stage-gate approach.

Speaker

Zulfan Adi Putra is a Senior Lecturer at the Chemical Engineering Department, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. His interest for research and teaching is in the area of process system engineering, including process synthesis and development, process optimization and integration, and process safety. Prior to joining the academic, he worked at several multinational chemical companies in the R&D or Process Engineering Division. Nowadays, apart from doing research and teaching, he is an active consultant for industrial companies both in Malaysia and Indonesia.
