Overview

Water is one of the important features of climate change. As the world warms the water carrying capacity of the atmosphere increases, leading to deluges and droughts, flooding and famine. These features will be important in understanding the risks from waterborne diseases.

The rising sea level in the longer term will have impacts on cities, low lying areas and small islands, resulting in dislocation and migration. Should we expect a cholera pandemic, a rise in vector borne diseases or an increase in conventional waterborne infections?

The webinar will address some of the issues that will arise in future years.
