Webinar: Tray Efficiency in Distillation Columns - Three Part Series, Part Three
  • Date From 21st May 2021
  • Date To 21st May 2021
  • Price Free of charge, Open to all.
  • Location Online: 15:00 BST. Duration: 1 hour.

Overview

Distillation column tray efficiency is a major headache when designing new columns or revamping old ones, this is a one stop shop providing background and advice in this complex subject.

A three part series looking at the efficiency of tray design in distillation columns:

  • Part 1: System design and operating variables that impact on tray efficiency
  • Part 2: Models for prediction of tray efficiency
  • Part 3: Improving tray efficiency and industrial examples

This series of webinars will provide an holistic view of distillation column tray efficiency. From the basics of design and operation, to complex modelling procedures and improvement of tray efficiency. Backed up with industrial case studies, this series provides a good basis for students new to the concepts of tray design; a more comprehensive view than any degree programme will provide valuable information and training for the improving engineer; as well as a few nuggets for the more experienced practitioner.

Presenter

Aadam F Aryan, Technical Director, Distillation Equipment Company Ltd (DtEC)

Aadam is a chemical engineering graduate from Aston University. Since graduation in 1986, he has worked continuously in the mass transfer industry. Initially he was employed with Mass Transfer International Ltd as a process development manager. Then with Eta Process Plant Ltd as a process engineer. Subsequently with Koch International UK Ltd (9 years) he started as a senior process engineer, later becoming sales and marketing manager and finally managing director of the engineering division.

After leaving Koch, he joined Distillation Equipment Company Ltd (DtEC) in November 1998, as the technical director. DtEC is a chemical engineering organisation specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of mass transfer equipment for distillation and absorption columns. In the course of his career, Aadam has successfully designed thousands of distillation and absorption columns.
