Overview

Please note that this webinar has been postponed.

Flibe Energy representatives discuss updated chemical processing approaches for lithium fluoride reactors. Lithium-fluoride reactors are often associated with highly efficient thorium fuel cycles and incorporate integrated chemical processing techniques.

This presentation is aimed at scientists, engineers or interested persons who are keen to learn more about novel nuclear technologies, in particular thorium reactors.

Speaker

Kirk Sorensen, President and Chief Technologist, Flibe Energy, Inc.

Kirk is the President and Chief Technologist of Flibe Energy, Inc., where he leads development of the Lithium Fluoride Thorium Reactor (LFTR). During his career at NASA developing advanced propulsion systems, Kirk became familiar with thorium molten-salt reactors, for which he has become a well-known advocate. Kirk then worked as Chief Nuclear Technologist of Teledyne Browne Engineering before founding Flibe Energy in 2011. LFTR's on-site chemical processing is envisioned as the most practical approach to sustainable nuclear energy.
