A review of one operator and developer's experience in the planning, funding, construction and operation of anaerobic digestion sites. Looking at future developments and enhancements that will reduce operational costs and risks.

Speaker

Ed Bastow, Angelsey Energy

Ed started out as a civil engineer working in the waste sector before moving into organic waste processing in 2004. In 2007, he joined Material Change as Managing Director and helped grow the business before selling the assets into a joint venture with a city funder. He continues to run Material Change which operates eight anaerobic digestion sites and a composting business. In 2019, Ed bought an anaerobic digestion site in Anglesey out of administration and is running the site on a high chicken muck content, which complicates biological stability.
