Overview

An evening event with technical presentation by the Technical Professional team from Intecsea Sdn Bhd and time for networking over refreshments.

This event is free and open to all. Bring along your colleagues and introduce them to the Oil & Natural Gas Special Interest Group (SONG) and to IChemE.

Topic

The Pseudo Dry Gas system reduces pressure drop within multiphase pipeline allowing significantly longer and deeper gas tiebacks, while improving recoverable production and reducing the associated high carbon emissions.

Subsea tie back systems have been generally limited to around 100km as a single pipeline or 150km as dual pipelines after which the production plateaus are shortened and increasing amounts of reserves remain in the ground. This is primarily due to increasing backpressures within the gathering system generated by a combination of increasing frictional and gravitational pressure drops, coupled with the operational issue of handling liquids.

The gravitational pressure drop is due to increasing liquid hold up (liquid content) in the pipeline. The Pseudo Dry Gas addresses the root problem by removing liquid at the earliest point of accumulation, thus reduce the gravitational pressure loss which allows the use of large pipelines for long distance tiebacks to negate the frictional pressure drop.

This presentation will show the comparative study for a range of development options based on current and future technology in order to demonstrate the value proposition and CO2 emission reduction of the Pseudo Dry Gas technology.

Speaker

Gaurav Gupta, Flow Assurance Manager

Mr. Gaurav has more than 12 years of experience in oil and gas industry and for the past 5 years, as Lead Engineer on Flow Assurance in numerous subsea oil and gas development projects covering all engineering phases from Concept Select up to Detailed design. He has experience of working on many projects for a wide selection of client companies and encompassing a diverse range of flow assurance issues.
