Water SIG AGM

Water SIG AGM
  • Date From 28th January 2020
  • Date To 28th January 2020
  • Location Online

Overview

Water SIG has over 1300 members and if you are keen to be more active within the SIG, please consider putting your name forward to join our friendly and enthusiastic committee. We have specific vacancies for:

  • Deputy Chair
  • Australian Events Coordinator
  • Malaysian Events Coordinator
  • South African Events Coordinator
  • Wet News Editor
  • Book Reviews Coordinator
  • Data Coordinator
  • Charities Coordinator.

We hold meetings monthly over Skype for business, which is the most practical approach given our board members are spread from Bath to Dunedin, this gives us a 13 hour split during the UK winter!

The committee undertakes a range of tasks and has a range of ordinary committee member roles and responsibilities, including the previously mentioned vacancies, webmaster, co-coordinators for water boxes, awards and bursaries, events, webinars, social media and universities liaison. Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and ordinary committee members will be formally voted for at the AGM, and roles for ‘ordinary’ committee members are agreed in the first committee meeting.

Nominees for the committee must indicate their willingness to stand, and must be proposed and seconded by Water SIG members. Please contact us if you are willing but can’t find a proposer or seconder. Nominees are invited to provide a little information (100 words maximum) about their affiliation, professional interests, what they hope to contribute to the committee etc. This information must be sent by email to the Chairman at water-sig-chair@ichememember.org by 09:00 GMT on 21 January 2020, so that it can be sent to members in advance of the AGM.

Nominations are also invited for election as Chair, Deputy Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, as above. The Chair and Treasurer must be Chartered Members of IChemE unless otherwise approved by Council.
