Dr Martin Currie MIChemE

Martin CurrieMartin Currie is an independent water engineering consultant, living in Mauritius with his wife and two daughters.

Martin has been working as a freelance water consultant for the last three years. Prior to moving to Mauritius, Martin developed Atkins' Middle East water consultancy business from a Dubai base. Before Atkins, Martin was with Thames Water in Reading, involved in both process optimisation and design of water treatment works.

Prior to Thames, Martin had his first stint as a freelance consultant, forming Aqueum Ltd. This was where Martin first became seriously involved with IChemE – becoming a member of the WaterSIG committee, which he has served on ever since.

Before Aqueum Martin was with WRc (a water consultancy based in Swindon) and Imperial College, where he completed his PhD in Ozone Enhanced Particle Removal. Martin's chemical engineering career commenced with an MEng in Chemical Engineering with Biotechnology at what was then UMIST. Many happy hours in the pilot plant… You can see Martin's full CV at

Special Projects - Membership Directory

Andrew CampbellAndrew currently manages a small group of specialist multidisciplinary engineers for WorleyParsons in Perth Australia. Andrew’s specialty is in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Modelling with an emphasis on process and quantifying consequences of events for risk assessments and design optimisation.

Andrew completed his Chemical Engineering Degree at Curtin University in Perth Australia, and his PhD in CFD modelling at the University of Greenwich, London UK. Before joining WorleyParsons, Andrew worked in technical development roles at the Rio Tinto HIsmelt project in Perth and for BHP Billiton within its Olympic Dam operations in South Australia.

I joined the Consultancy Special Interest Group to improve my networks and wider industry contacts. With my computer skills it was a manageable task to take on the website role and other associated initiatives – as such as the member directory improvement to the Contractors and Consultants file.
