WaterAid to receive IChemE Christmas donation
IChemE will make a charitable donation to WaterAid in lieu of sending greeting cards this Christmas.
WaterAid is an international non-profit organisation dedicated to bringing sustainable water supplies and sanitation to poor communities around the world. It currently works with 26 countries in Africa, Asia and the Pacific region. It was set up in response to the UN International Drinking Water & Sanitation decade (1981-1990) with the desired outcome to help people escape poverty and disease caused by contaminated water and poor sanitation.
Communications Manager, Matt Stalker said that this charity is particularly significant to IChemE, because much of its good work relies upon sound engineering and addresses key societal issues: “More and more organisations are now opting to make charitable donations at this time of year instead of sending traditional Christmas cards. In this particular case, the environmental benefits are two-fold."
IChemE office closures:

About chemical engineers
Chemical, biochemical and process engineering is the application of science, maths and economics to the process of turning raw materials into everyday products. Professional chemical engineers design, construct and manage process operations all over the world. Pharmaceuticals, food and drink, synthetic fibres and clean drinking water are just some of the products where chemical engineering plays a central role.
