The Apprentice's Nick Hewer to host IChemE Awards

With just a few days to go before the closing date for entries to this year’s IChemE Awards, the Institution of Chemical Engineers has announced The Apprentice’s Nick Hewer as the host of November’s awards ceremony in Bolton.

Hewer is one of TV’s most recognisable faces as Lord Sugar’s right-hand man on BBC Television’s The Apprentice which has just finished airing this week. He is also the current presenter of Channel 4’s long running day-time show Countdown. Prior to gaining celebrity status, Nick ran his own Public Relations firm.

The big winners from last year’s awards were GSK for its radical change in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals alongside project partners GEA, Siemens, Sagentia and the Universities of Newcastle, Warwick and Surrey.

This year’s event is being hosted in association with Saudi Aramco on 7 November 2013 at De Vere Whites Hotel, Bolton, England. The deadline for entries is Friday 26 July 2013.

The most outstanding entry across all categories will receive the 2013 Award for Outstanding Achievement in Chemical and Process Engineering Award - sponsored by BP.
