Opening Ceremony of IChemE Student Chapter in University Nottingham Malaysia Campus

IChemE Student Chapter University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus

The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC) launched their IChemE Student Chapter on 2 December 2013.

The event was initiated by a speech from the UNMC IChemE advisor, Dr Denny Ng followed by Prof Christine Ennew, CEO of University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus.  In conjunction to this, the opening ceremony was delightfully officiated by IChemE Chairman, Chow Boon Ping and witnessed by Prof Christine Ennew accompanied by Prof Ian Harrison, Dean of Engineering. A knowledgeable and inspirational talk on the topic of the route to becoming a chemical engineer and the palm oil industry was presented by Chow.

Moments were captured with much harmony and joy between IChemE representatives and the members at the networking lunch session along with a photo taking session.

The event was brought to an end with brief discussions on the Young Engineers Group (YEG), the National Chemical Engineering Symposium (NACES) and the Malaysia Awards & Annual Dinner. “These events provide good networking among chemical engineers with possibilities of internship opportunities” said Mohan Balasingam, IChemE Regional Manager of South East Asia.
