Waikato Research Fellow wins global award.


Dr Timothy Walmsley has been awarded the Young Chemical Engineer in Research Award, sponsored by ExxonMobil, at the IChemE global awards.

Walmsley is a Research Fellow in the Energy Research Centre at the University of Waikato, New Zealand. He joined the centre in 2010 as a BE(Hons) student and completed a PhD in process engineering in 2014. Tim was awarded Chartered Engineer and Member of IChemE status in 2015.

Over the last six years he has developed into an independent researcher with expertise in process modelling, integration and optimisation. His research has contributed to over 50 referred journals and conference papers. Tim significantly contributed to winning two multi-year research contracts worth a combined £3.9 million.
