To assess the effectiveness of risk management and internal controls across the organisation, reporting to and advising the Board of Trustees.

Books Editorial Board
The Books Editorial Bood advise IChemE and its publishing partners, Elsevier, of the institution’s book publications strategy and support the strategy by facilitating introductions to suitable contacts.

Commercial Panel
The Commercial Panel will provide counsel, guidance, and soundings on a variety of commercial matters, and is responsible for oversight of the Institution’s commercial activity.

Dispute Resolution Committee
The Dispute Resolution Committee provides IChemE’s dispute resolution service by drafting and preparing for publication the various Dispute Resolution Rules published by IChemE; maintaining the IChemE lists of appropriately qualified dispute resolvers and nominating dispute resolvers when IChemE is asked to do so.

Finance & HR Committee
The purpose of the Committee is to is to review and make recommendations to the Board of Trustees on IChemE’s financial and investment affairs, and to oversee all matters relating to the remuneration of staff, with specific responsibility for setting the remuneration policy and salaries for the Senior Management Team.

Governance Panel
The role of the Governance Panel is to regularly review the Institution’s governing documents. To ensure that documents remain up to date, relevant to the needs of the Institution, compliant with external regulatory and relevant legislative requirements, and published guidelines and recommendations of the Charity Commission.

IChemE Safety Centre Charter
IChemE exists to advance chemical engineering worldwide for the benefit of society. Process safety is a critical element of chemical engineering. The IChemE Safety Centre is a division of IChemE that works directly with organisations to advance process safety. It takes overall leadership for the process safety strategy within IChemE through the Major Hazards Committee.

To assist and advise in the production of the Loss Prevention Bulletin, a bi-monthly journal that seeks to prevent future accidents in the process industries by investigating and disseminating the lessons learned from past incidents, sharing best practice and relevant news.

Major Hazards Committee
The Major Hazards Committee (MHC) is the volunteer body that leads major hazards strategy within IChemE. The MHC provides an environment where the agendas of the different IChemE major hazards groups involved can be communicated, coordinated and aligned to an overarching IChemE major hazards strategy.

The Standards Panel is a sub-committee of the Professional Formation Forum (PFF) with specific responsibility for overseeing the correct application of standards to the admission and readmission to, and transfer of Members within, the Membership Roll; together with specific responsibility for overseeing the standards applied to all the professionally qualified grades of membership and their respective registrations.
