IChemE makes a courtesy call on YB Yeo Bee Yin, Minister of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment, and Climate Change

Ir. Dr Christina Phang, Chair of IChemE Board Malaysia Branch give a summary of IChemE and its core activities; membership, training and events towards professional development. In return, YB shared on the 3 focus areas as follows:

1. Energy efficiency
2. Reduction on the use of plastics and focus on bio degradable plastics
3. Increase allocation in industrial research.

She also provided an indication of the timeline for implementation of the above and her intention to hold upcoming town hall sessions, and mentioned the need to revamp DOE functions.
