Chemistry Innovation appoints new chair

5th January 2011

Graeme Armstrong, main board director at Azko Nobel, has been appointed as chairman of the IChemE and Royal Society of Chemistry UK knowledge exchange subsidiary, Chemistry Innovation Ltd (CIL).

Armstrong will chair the Chemistry Innovation Knowledge Transfer Network, funded by the UK government’s Technology Strategy Board. CIL is the centrepiece of a broad collaboration between the two shareholder organisations, steered by CEOs Richard Pike (RSC) and David Brown (IChemE).

Brown welcomed the appointment and said: “Richard and I both value the work our CIL joint venture has undertaken and we look forward to an even closer synergy with the parent organisations under Graeme’s leadership. IChemE intends to apply the lessons learned from CIL in our operations elsewhere around the world.”
