EDF in France earns IChemE accreditation

20th April 2013

EDF’s Nuclear Division in France (DIN) has been awarded IChemE accreditation for its in-house training programme.

The accreditation is the first awarded in France by IChemE under its Accredited Company Training Scheme (ACTS). EDF’s UK nuclear division has been ACTS accredited since 2010.

To be accredited under ACTS, companies must demonstrate commitment to providing high-quality, relevant training to graduates, and ensure that they receive the necessary experience and knowledge to apply for chartership with IChemE as quickly as possible. ACTS is a global benchmark and helps companies to attract the best new graduates.

EDF is one of just a handful of companies still involved with the UK’s nuclear new-build scheme and after a heavy recruitment drive in the UK, employed 12 chemical engineering graduates keen to get chartered. IChemE recognition of DIN’s efforts to provide a good training scheme will benefit these trainees.
