Alun Cochrane to host IChemE Global Awards 2018

6th June 2018

Award-winning stand-up comedian Alun Cochrane will host the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) Global Awards on Thursday 1 November 2018. The Awards, which are held in association with Johnson Matthey, will be held at the Principal Manchester in Manchester, UK.

Cochrane is a familiar face on British television, having appeared on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Russell Howard’s Good News, Mock the Week, Dave’s One Night Stand, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Have I Got News For You and 8 Out Of 10 Cats. He also played Sam in sitcom Trying Again, which starred Chris Addison and Jo Joyner (of Eastenders fame).

Alun currently co-hosts The Frank Skinner Show on Absolute Radio, for which he received a 2012 Arqiva Award nomination for Best Newcomer.

The IChemE Global Awards recognise excellence across the process industries. Two new categories have been created this year, to highlight outstanding achievements in the areas of Diversity and Pharmaceuticals.

The Awards are currently open for entries, with the finalists being announced in September 2018. There are 17 categories to choose from, covering all aspects of chemical, biochemical and process engineering, and entry is free. Interested parties can find out more here.
