Stubbs and Lawrenson to host IChemE awards

Football double-act Ray Stubbs and Mark Lawrenson will be keeping 450 chemical engineers entertained in Manchester, UK next month when they host the IChemE 2010 Awards dinner.

ESPN presenter Stubbs and Match of the Day pundit Lawrenson will resume their presenting partnership as they oversee proceedings at The Palace Hotel on 4 November.

Stubbs spent 26 years with the BBC working on a variety of sporting events and programmes before joining ESPN in 2009 to front coverage of the English Premier League. Liverpool and Ireland legend Lawrenson is a familiar face on BBC football programmes and worked alongside Stubbs on Football Focus.

The sporting pair will be joined by X Factor finalist Ruth Lorenzo who will be performing live at the event.

The IChemE Awards recognise chemical engineering innovation and excellence in 14 categories, covering all aspects of chemical, process and biochemical engineering. The Awards include team and individual prizes with the best entry across all categories receiving the Outstanding Achievement in Chemical and Process Engineering Award (sponsored by Rowan House).
