Iqbal Essa

Iqbal has over 40 years of experience in the chemical industry. He has worked in roles spanning R&D and production management, before joining the Civil Service as HM Principal Specialist Inspector with the HSE, holding national technical advisory responsibilities for process safety and fire and explosion risks. He has vast experience in governance, risk management and safety leadership.

Iqbal has been extensively involved with IChemE, including leadership roles on the Loss Prevention Bulletin Panel, Chair of IChemE North West and as a long-standing member of the Hazards Symposium Committee, as well as mentoring aspiring Chartered engineers.
