Ainslie Just

Biography 

Ainslie Just has been a member of the Registration Subcommittee and its predecessor, the Professional Formation Forum, for over 10 years, including roles as Global Registrar and Duty Registrar for election panels, and was elected the Chair of the subcommittee in 2023. He was previously the Vice President – Qualifications from 2018-2021.

He is currently a member of the Professional Standards Panel, and also undertakes professional reviews of applicants for chartered membership and accreditation visits to universities (principally in Australia but also in the UK and SE Asia). He was a committee member on various local member groups between 1985 and 2021, and was a state representative on the Australian Board at various times between 1987 and 2004, and the Hon. Treasurer from 2005-2010.

Ainslie has a BSc and BE Hons in chemical engineering from the University of Adelaide. His early professional career was in the alkali and plastics manufacturing industries, following which he moved into consulting, mainly in safety and environmental management. He is now largely retired, but continues to provide some limited consultancy services when called upon.
