IChemE celebrates its 100th birthday in 2022

Our centenary, called IChemE100, is a once in a century opportunity to reflect upon and honour the work of chemical engineers past and present in their mission to deliver value to the society we serve. It's also an opportunity to identify the role of chemical engineering in helping to meet the challenges of the future.

The IChemE100 centenary project is being managed as a member-led project. We have five working parties, plus an overarching IChemE100 Steering Committee

Find out more about each IChemE100 working party and what it involves below:

The first three working parties are focusing on developing content (what we are going to say), looking at the past, present or future of chemical engineering. There is also a working party for identifying services (how we are going to say it) and a working party for developing platforms (where we are going to say it) plus exploring fundraising opportunities.

Each working party has a number of members, plus a Chair. The Chairs of each working party report into the IChemE100 Steering Committee

Members and Chairs of each working party operate in an unpaid, voluntary capacity.

The process to apply to be a member of an IChemE100 working party is now closed. However, you can still send in your ideas for the IChemE100 centenary project and find out more by emailing IChemE100@icheme.org
