North Lancashire MG meets CSI! Forensic expert Izzy Colclough will be speaking to us about the scientific techniques behind forensic methods.
Forensic Science is a broad and varied field with some disciplines advancing at a pace and others still relying on techniques that have been employed since the early 1900s.

This presentation will provide an overview of forensic disciplines, examine some of the most recent developments in evidence recovery and analysis, the challenges some of these developments have presented for forensic scientists and a reality check for those who believe everything they see on TV.

Izzy Colclough, Forensic Science Expert, ILC Forensics

Izzy started her career with a Chemical Engineering degree before joining the Police Service as a Crime Scene Investigator. Over the following years she has lectured in forensic science, undertaken fire investigations, standards assessment, and is now a Visiting Fellow at Cranfield University.
