Overview

Originally built and opened by Her Majesty Queen Victoria in 1866 to supply water to the city of Aberdeen, the site draws its water from the River Dee and today serves up to 300,000 customers across the North East having recently undertaken significant upgrades following a £60m investment project from Scottish Water.

The event will be held during the morning shift in order to maximise the experience and minimise disruption to the operational activities of the plant. Please travel in good time to arrive at the location and gather prior to the start (9:30 arrival for 10:00 start). Car parking is available outside the site entrance.

Please note the following if attending:

• All participants will require PPE (safety shoes, hi-vis jacket, safety glasses, gloves), which can be provided by the site if requested in advance.
• All attendees are required to bring photographic ID (e.g. passport, driving licence).
• While not guaranteed, if you require transport other members will try to arrange lifts in the Aberdeen area - please request this in advance.
