Overview

Established in 2018, The Portsmouth Distillery is a premium artisan spirit producer located within the eighteenth-century Bastion of Fort Cumberland, on the southeastern tip of Portsea Island.

During the guided tour, attendees will discover how the distillery’s products are made and learn about the processes involved in creating its range of spirits. As part of the visit, the distillery team will also provide a more technical perspective on the production process, offering particular insight for our chemical and process engineering community.

The visit will also explore the history of Fort Cumberland and the story behind the distillery, combining engineering and production insights with the unique heritage of the site.

The tour includes a visit to the historic Powder Magazine, a tasting of the distillery’s core-range spirits and a full-sized drink of your choice.
Following the tour, attendees are invited to enjoy a grazing buffet and networking, providing an opportunity to meet and connect with fellow IChemE members and engineers in a relaxed setting.
