Overview

The Board of IChemE in Singapore would like to invite you to the annual general meeting. The Board also calls for nominations for ‘voting members’ in good standing to stand for election to the Board.

This year’s AGM will be held in person at NUSS Kent Ridge Guild House. The evening will begin with a welcome reception at 18:00 SGT, followed by a presentation on Nuclear energy in the broader Singapore/ASEAN energy landscape, and then the main meeting agenda at 19:00 SGT.

Positions for elections

The Board are recruiting for multiple roles:

  • Chair
  • Vice Chair - Learned Society
  • Vice Chair - Young Engineers, Students
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Board Members x 4
  • Board Member - Early Career Representative
  • Board Member - Fellow Representative

In addition, we will seek two members in good standing to volunteer as honorary auditors for the period.

Please state in your application which role you are applying for, as well as the name of the person who has seconded the nomination.

All applications must be received by the close of business on Tuesday, 16 June 2026. Earlier submission is appreciated.

Only members holding the classes of Fellow, Member and Associate Member (voting members) and who have paid their annual dues to the Institution are entitled to vote on matters relating to and hold office, in the Branch. Other members of the same grade may participate in all activities of the branch but shall not be permitted to vote or hold office.

Victor Nian, Founding Co-Chair, Centre for Strategic Energy and Resources (CSER)

Victor is committed to advancing independent research and analysis that help governments and businesses make sound investments in the energy transition and industrial transformation towards a resilient and sustainable future. As Founding Co-Chairman of the Centre for Strategic Energy and Resources (CSER), an independent Asian think-and-do tank established in the spirit of “knowledge and innovation without borders”, Victor is on a mission to uncover strategic insights and demystify complex challenges to help emerging Asian economies navigate the energy trilemma.

Victor is a recognised authority on energy transition and sustainability governance in Southeast Asia. He advises public and private organisations on the geopolitics and market dynamics of strategic technologies and industries, particularly nuclear energy, low-carbon fuels, and digital infrastructure. He leads initiatives in energy policy, sustainability strategy development, and public-private partnerships to accelerate the adoption of nationally appropriate energy transition pathways.

Victor holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical Engineering, with a Minor in Management of Technology, from the National University of Singapore
