Overview

In 2022, the United States saw the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which combined a wide array of clean energy tax incentives into a single bill to address climate change over the coming years. There is an infrastructure component that funds new hydrogen hubs; clean hydrogen plants can receive a production tax credit of up to $3/kg of H2.

Canada’s 2023 national budget includes a robust low-carbon hydrogen investment tax credit. How do these various Policies catalyse the Energy Transition in North America?
