Alex Munnoch

  • Position Secretary

Alex’s research is focused on the scale-up application of heterogeneous catalysts, the impacts of physicochemical properties (and their evolution) during manufacturing processes and how this impacts process and equipment design/selection. He graduated with BSc Hons and PhD degrees in Chemistry from the University of Glasgow, with his thesis on Methanol dehydration using MFI (zeolites/zeotypes): The role of framework composition and binder.

Alex is currently the director of HetCat Industrial Consulting and was previously Johnson Matthey’s Solid’s Engineering Excellence Centre lead where he represented interests in the International Fine Particle Research Institute (IFPRI), the TUSAIL EU Horizon 2020 MSCA Innovative Training Network and several EPSRC-funded PhD studentships.
