In late 2016, the Diversity and Inclusion Working Group conducted an initial survey of members in the UK to look at the effect of social background on university attendance, qualification and entry into the workplace for chemical engineers. This report published in June 2017 details their findings.
Social Mobility Report - 2018
In late 2017, the Diversity and Inclusion Working Group ran a follow-up survey to build on their initial results. This study aimed to discover whether chemical engineering was overall a vehicle for social mobility in the UK, and collected the personal views of how engineers feel affected by their background in university and the workplace.
