Data Science in Chemical Engineering, Challenges and Expectations Webinar

Data Science in Chemical Engineering, Challenges and Expectations Webinar

1st November 2021

Chemical engineering companies are not software companies, and making a movie recommendation is not the same thing as making a plant set point recommendation. Dr Irina Boiarkina explored the challenges and expectations of data science, specific to chemical engineering, and what should be considered when embarking in this space. It was well attended and there was a lot of time for interesting questions at the end.

Dr Irina Boiarkina is a chemical engineer working as a data scientist for Fonterra, a world leading dairy exporter. Prior to this she worked as a lecturer at the University of Auckland, and completed her post-doc on a joint project between the University of Auckland and Fonterra investigating the effect of spray dryer operation on milk powder quality.
