Renisha Hercules obtained her BSc. Chemical and Process Engineering degree from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus in 2020, where she graduated at the top of her class. Renisha first became involved with IChemE as the Department Representative for the Chemical Engineering department at this university. She later transitioned into the role of Networking, Fundraising, Social and Recognition (NFSR) Committee Lead, where with the help of her committee, creates social media content, disseminates information to the Member Group and promotes membership growth. She is also acts as the editor of the IChemE TTMG newsletter, The Vessel, which is published twice a year.
Renisha has previously worked as a Process Engineering Intern at Atlantic and Shell Trinidad and Tobago Limited, equipping her with experience of the Upstream natural gas environment. She is currently a Graduate Process Engineer at Heritage Petroleum Company Limited. As part of the Operations Technology team of the Midstream Business Unit, she is responsible for monitoring performance and suggesting improvements across seven (7) crude oil processing and storage facilities, supporting senior engineers with projects and writing engineering reports for proposing solutions to identified problems, designing/sizing equipment and analysing existing and proposed systems. Renisha plans to begin her postgraduate studies in the upcoming year, with a focus in the field of Computational Fluid Dynamics. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering through tutoring students, exercising, reading and listening to music
