Overview

Julian Henry will provide an overview of the coaching and mentorship services of The UWI Entrepreneurship Unit and The UWI Ventures Limited and how these services can be accessed. He will also provide an introduction to entrepreneurship and brief discussion of reasons for getting into entrepreneurship, opportunities that are trending and success factors for starting and running a small enterprise.

Speaker

Julian Henry, Entrepreneurship Consultant, Entrepreneurship Unit, The University of the West Indies

Julian is an Alumni of the University of the West Indies and The Boulder Institute of Microfinance in Colorado. He is also an entrepreneurship development consultant with over 22 years local and regional experience in providing entrepreneurship training, mentorship and managing SME finance programmes. He has been instrumental in the development and success of several entrepreneurship development programmes throughout many parts of the Caribbean. Amongst his professional appointments include:

  • The Entrepreneurship Consultant at the UWI St. Augustine, Entrepreneurship Unit (Present)
  • Strategic Consultant to Axcel Caribbean, a regional entrepreneurship and SME financing company
  • Chief Executive Officer for the National Entrepreneurship Development Company (NEDCO)
  • Regional Manager of Group Credit for the DFL Subsidiary; Microfin Caribbean Holdings Company Limited.
