Michael Yianneskis

Michael has been involved with fluid mixing research since 1982. He studied at the University of Manchester and Imperial College, and at present he is Honorary Professor at UCL and Emeritus Professor of Fluid Mechanics of King’s College London, where he was Head of the School (Dean) of Physical Sciences and Engineering.

Michael has published over 200 refereed journal and conference papers that have been cited over 6500 times. He led the Experimental and Computational Laboratory for the Analysis of Turbulence (ECLAT) at King’s and he was Chair of Fluid Mixing Processes Subject Group of the IChemE.

Michael has served on a multitude of research assessment and university evaluation committees worldwide and has been on the scientific and/or organising committees of numerous international conferences.

In 2018, Michael received the EFCE Lifetime Recognition Award in Mixing  for his contributions to the advancement of mixing science.
