Our Affiliate Member grade is for those with an interest in chemical engineering but who do not currently meet the requirements for other grades of IChemE membership. Affiliate Members may be:
- graduates with a first degree in chemical engineering who require an Individual Case Procedure (ICP) assessment of their qualification(s) to satisfy the requirements for Associate membership
- graduates (or postgraduate students) with a first degree in a subject other than chemical engineering, working towards Associate Member (AMIChemE)
- those working within the process industries, or university lecturers teaching elements of the chemical engineering curriculum, who are not chemical engineers themselves
- anyone else with an interest in, or professional link to, chemical engineering.
Affiliate Members can access all membership resources such as The Chemical Engineer magazine, Knovel e-library, regional member groups and technical special interest groups.
Anyone with an interest in the profession can become an Affiliate Member. However, we suggest you look through our other membership grades before applying, as there may be a grade more suited to your qualifications, background and experience.
