Professional Process Safety Engineer (MIChemE)

Professional Process Safety Engineer (MIChemE)

In order to better protect society IChemE introduced the Professional Process Safety Engineer registration which provides public recognition to peer reviewed practitioners working within process safety.

The registration is recognised and positioned at the same professional level as Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer.

IChemE is the only body able to award this professional qualification globally.

Professional Process Safety Engineer registration is open to everyone who can demonstrate competence to perform professional process safety work to the necessary standards, and commitment to:

  • maintain their competence
  • work within professional codes
  • participate actively within the profession

Professional registration has many benefits for individuals and employers, as well as for the economy and society.

To become registered, applicants must have their competence assessed through professional review.

Hear from those who have gained the registration: Professional Process Safety Engineer.

Professional Process Safety Engineers who, for a suitable time, have held an important position of responsibility in the context of process safety and they made valuable contributions to the profession of process safety engineering are eligible for the IChemE Fellow status.
