Overview

Management – all too often it is something that we love to do but hate to have done to us! It’s one of those words that we use every day without pausing to really think about what it means and why it is necessary. We spend years of dedicated study to develop our professional skills but are left to acquire management skills by osmosis.

The scientific application of management theory rarely survives the first contact with people. Learning the theory is no more effective at making us managers than learning the physics of angular momentum enables us to ride a bike, or studying ornithology makes us a bird!

This short course will highlight some practical principles and approaches to help you confidently develop and implement your management and decision-making skills.
