Malaysian chemical engineers recognised as World's Most Influential Minds

Three chemical engineers from Malaysia have been recognised as the World's Most Influential Minds 2015. Professor Datuk Ir Dr Wan Ramil Wan Daud, Professor Dr Siti Kamarudin and Professor Dr Bassim H Hameed all made the list, which identifies researchers with the largest number of highly-cited papers.

The report, which is produced annually by Thomson Reuters ranks only the top 1% from a database of 9 million scientists and academics.

Professor Datuk Ir Dr Wan Ramli Wan Daud, a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers(IChemE), made the list along with colleague Professor Dr Siti Khatum Kamarudin. Both work in Hydrogen Energy and Fuel Cells at Universiti Kebangsaan (UKM) Malaysia. Following his doctorate from the University of Cambridge, UK, Professor Datuk Ir has spent 36 years as a lecturer at UKM.

Professor Dr Bassim H Hameed, Reactor Engineering and Adsorption at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) was also honoured in the list for a second time running.
