The IChemE Knowledge Hub celebrates latest milestone

29th April 2024

IChemE is delighted to announce that the Knowledge Hub is now home to over 30,000 invaluable chemical and process engineering resources.

The online database, which is free to use for all IChemE members, has been a one-stop-shop from which members can search and access articles, papers and publications from various IChemE sources, including the full archives of the Loss Prevention Bulletin, The Chemical Engineer and all of our peer-reviewed journals, since its inception. It also features content created by members themselves, whose contributions have made the platform an indispensable tool for chemical and process engineering professionals working across numerous industries.

With further space dedicated to proceedings from past IChemE conferences, process safety incident reports, policy consultation responses, online training courses, and good practice guides from the IChemE Safety Centre, the Knowledge Hub continues to bring together thousands of resources through a single searchable index, and is an example of IChemE’s commitment to sharing knowledge for the benefit of our members, society and the environment.

Claudia Flavell-While, Director, Learned Society, IChemE said: “Since its launch in 2020 the Knowledge Hub has seen a steady rise in the number of members using it to access our publications and search for trusted knowledge produced by IChemE. Hundreds of users browse our resources every month, which is fantastic testament to how valuable these are to our members.”

The Knowledge Hub is freely accessible to all IChemE members and offers guidance and insights into various subject areas at the touch of a button. Members can search the platform by keyword, author and industry, and explore a range of high-quality technical information to further their understanding on topics such as digitalisation, responsible production, major hazards management and more.

To become an IChemE member and take advantage of the Knowledge Hub’s vast array of content, view our membership grades today and see which is right for you.

What is chemical engineering?

Chemical, biochemical and process engineering is the application of science, mathematics and economics in the process of turning raw materials into everyday, and more specialist, products. Professional chemical engineers design, construct and manage process operations all over the world. Energy, pharmaceuticals, food and drink, synthetic fibres and clean drinking water are just some of the industry sectors and products where chemical engineering plays a central role.

IChemE

The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) advances chemical engineering's contribution for the benefit of society. We facilitate the development of chemical engineering professionals and provide connections to a powerful network of around 30,000 members in more than 100 countries.

We support our members in applying their expertise and experience to make an influential contribution to solving major global challenges, and are the only organisation permitted to award Chartered Chemical Engineer status and Professional Process Safety Engineer registration.
