Releasing January 2022 as IChemE launches its centenary celebrations.

The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) and ITN Productions Industry News will be co-creators of Serving Society, a unique news-style programme. Serving Society is being produced to bring greater understanding of global issues and raise awareness about the vital role of chemical engineers in delivering responsible solutions for the benefit of society.

The work of chemical engineers contributes to solving major global issues worldwide. The programme aims to create broader public understanding of chemical engineering and raise awareness of IChemE’s ambitions, featuring inspiring stories of innovation and evolution. The programme will bring to life responsible production, new technology and the role of chemical engineers within different sectors.

Serving Society will examine the difference that chemical engineering makes to society, while exploring key issues including sustainable chemical engineering, addressing the issues around the need for chemical products that meet society's demands while looking to a responsible future. The programme will feature reports from the people and solutions making a difference, show examples of best practice and the necessity of inspiring the next generation.

Launching at an IChemE event in January 2022, Serving Society is a collaborative content partnership with the Institution of Chemical Engineers and ITN Productions Industry News that will form part of an extensive online digital campaign.

Jon Prichard, Chief Executive, IChemE said: “As we head into our centenary year, we are delighted to be working alongside ITN Productions Industry News to promote the breadth of opportunity that sits within chemical engineering and share the contribution that chemical engineers make to society.”
