Andrea has over thirty years’ experience in process design and project delivery in the energy, chemicals and water market sectors throughout the UK, Australia and South East Asia (Thailand/Vietnam). She has experience in both technical and business management having held positions of Chief Engineer, Process Manager and General Manager for global consultancy companies including Brown & Root, Worley Parsons and thyssenkrupp. At thyssenkrupp she held a National Management role overseeing staff in multiple offices and projects straddling multiple countries.

She has demonstrated strong commercial acumen with the ability to develop, influence and execute complex strategy/direction and is effective in applying process technology to drive process improvement and successful project outcomes. She has been recognised within Australian Chemical Engineering as a recipient of via the Fluor Award of Excellence in Chemical Engineering for exceptional management and leadership that directly resulted in sustained corporate success.

Andrea has built diverse teams and has a wealth of experience and involvement with Chemical Engineers at all stages of their careers. She has held roles as Chair and member on several technical and academic advisory boards. She is an active volunteer and longstanding participant in her local Member Group, is the current Victorian representative on the IChemE Australian Board and Chair of the Industry Advisory Board for Melbourne University. She has most recently been appointed a member of a working group to improve collaboration across industry bodies.

Andrea holds a Chemical Engineering degree (University of South Wales) and a Masters of Ion Exchange and Membrane Technology (Cranfield) and is a Fellow of the IChemE. She currently consults for Nuffield Group expanding her risk, safety, regulatory and emergency response capability. Their flexible work policies, shared value ethics and support allows ample time for her volunteer roles.
