With over 20 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, Adai specialises in operational safety and sustainable environmental practices. He currently leads the operational compliance team in the Northern Area Producing Administrative Area of Saudi Aramco, where he has worked for more than 11 years, supporting senior management on critical HSE and operational excellence strategies.

Before joining Saudi Aramco, Adai held various HSE positions at Shell Nigeria from 2003 to 2013, developing a strong foundation in health and safety practices tailored to the oil and gas sector. His experience with national and multinational corporations has equipped him with a deep understanding of regulatory environments and the ability to implement effective safety programs across diverse jurisdictions.

Adai holds a Master’s in risk and safety management from Heriot-Watt University and a Master’s in environmental science and engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. He also earned a Bachelor's degree in geology and mining from the University of Jos, a professional diploma in safety and security management from Rivers State University, and an executive certificate in climate and business from HEC Paris. He is a Fellow of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (FIIRSM), a Member of IChemE, and a Graduate Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), among other professional body memberships.

Passionate about advancing safety standards, Adai co-authored a patent titled “Proactive Safety Management and Risk Prediction System Using Machine Learning,” positioning him to enhance workers’ well-being across all sectors.
