Keeping yourself safe in a school setting: safeguarding for volunteers

Keeping yourself safe in a school setting: safeguarding for volunteers

Anyone who works with or volunteers with children* has a duty of care to keep them safe. Whilst there are staff in schools who have this expertise, safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and we would like all volunteers working with children to read our 'Safeguarding and protection' guide.

Based on UK legislation, this guide has been produced to support those UK volunteers working in schools and colleges, and our expectation is that all volunteers will read this document before taking part in any outreach activity.
